Welcome to Kimyona, a new Pokemon region only discovered a month ago. Explorers accidentally found it when their ship crashed on the island during a storm. Some people have already moved to a small refuge on one of the south-eastern points, but people have yet to research the land to find out the Pokemon there, see how big and what the land looks like, and to establish new towns and cities in ideal places. So what are you waiting for? Read this guidebook to find out how to properly explore this vast, new land with no problems at all!
1. No godmodding or powerplaying of any kind! Godmodding is when a character is a Mary-sue/Gary-stu, meaning that they are always perfect. They have special abilities, they always excel in everything, they're drop dead gorgeous. Those characters are boring and annoying. Your characters should have a a few flaws, after all, nobody's perfect. Powerplaying is when you do something that will directly affect another person's character without letting them respond. It also is when you control another person's character without permission. This is a HUGE no-no. This is the number one rule, and it will be enforced if necessary.
2. Always be respectful to other users and listen to the mods or admins.
3. Limited swearing. You are allowed to only use two cuss words per post and if possible, try to censor them. There are little kids on this website.
4. Stay on topic. Nobody should be talking about cats when they're busy fighting a wild pokemon.
5. Don't bash the site. If you have a problem with it, either post it in the suggestions thread or leave. However, don't post a full-scale rant in the suggestions thread.
6. You are allowed to hug, kiss, and have a little date, but nothing sexual. If anything, just put a fade to black or that they went into a room.
7. You don't have to, but it's recommended that you write in complete sentences in third person. Past tense is recommended.
8. Bullying, name calling, or flaming of any kind is not tolerated and can result in a permanent ban off the spot.
So your character is ready to explore what Kimyona has to offer. However, you need a starter to explore with, don't you? People who haven't gotten a Pokemon yet should start out by going to the Lab. You'll meet the professor, whom greets you and gives you a variety of options to choose from. You will also receive a Pokedex, a Live Caster, and five pokeballs.
However, you can also receive a Pokemon by letting one of your parents give you one. However, if this happens, it cannot be an evolved form and it has to be a level five. You also won't receive a Pokedex or a Live Caster, but you will receive the five Pokeballs.
What if you want your Dex and Live Caster then? Just go visit the professor and he'll give you them, but no extra pokeballs. After you get all of this, you can start up your PC. Your PC is where you put Pokemon that are not in your team. As you know, you can only have Six Pokemon on you at one time, so this is where you put the others.
Now only one thing left. Start up your live Caster! All you have to do is fill a small form about your character and you're done! The forms will be in the Live Caster form.
You are not Sonic the Hedgehog, you can't run through the map willy-nilly. Also, no explorer runs through without looking around. You must take the time to actually walk around from place to place. However, you can fly around if you have a flying Pokemon larger than you. You cannot ride a Pokemon smaller than you. Same rule applies to Pokemon that know surf. Also, Pokemon using surf can't participate in battle. You cannot use dive here.
There are two types of battles: Wild Battles and Trainer Battles. Wild Battles are where you battle with a wild Pokemon. Once you defeat it, you have the option to add the Pokemon to your party or leave it and gain experience. Trainer Battles are battles against two trainers to see which has the stronger Pokemon. When two trainers battle, they have the choice of a wager battle. A wager battle is when the trainers bet an amount of their money and the winner takes all.
Sadly, you won't win every battle. What if your Pokemon faints? You can either use items to heal your Pokemon or ask for certain character that are able to heal to help.
You are expected to write at least one sentence per post. Also, you receive 10 Money for each sentence you post. Another way to get Money is to find it, but this is the fastest way.
First, a trainer must have two Pokemon that are compatible (if two trainers want to breed their Pokemon, one must let the other borrow theirs). You must post saying that the two sneak off and when you find them, they have an egg.
Note: Any sexual posts will result in the post being removed and a short ban.
Once you get your egg, you can either give it away or raise it yourself.
Remember the rules of breeding: bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pokémon_breeding
However, the hatching system is different than the game, for each sentence you post, the walk cycles go up by 25. No egg hatches in five minutes.
Leveling up your Pokemon is very important, especially in battles so that you may win. There are actually two ways of doing this:
Wild/Trainer Battles:
In a Trainer Battle, two trainers pit their Pokemon against each other and fight to see who has the strongest Pokemon. Trainer battles will always be harder than wild Pokemon battles, but there is a plus. Before a Trainer Battle, the two trainers can set up a wager battle. In a wager battle, each trainer bets a set amount of Money and the winner takes all.
Wild Pokemon battles are just what you'd think they are. Battling Wild Pokemon. Anytime you defeat a Wild Pokemon you are given the chance to Capture the Pokemon, or Defeat the Pokemon. If you choose to Capture the Pokemon, you will NOT gain any experience (EXP.) but you will gain the Pokemon. If you defeat the Pokemon you WILL gain EXP, but be forced to leave the Pokemon behind.
Here's the system for Trainer/Wild Battles:
Pokemon between the levels of 1 and 10 need one battle to level up.
Pokemon between the levels of 11 and 20 need two battle to level up.
Pokemon between the levels of 21 and 30 need three battle to level up.
Etc.
Get the pattern here? It's pretty simple, really.
Solo-training:
Solo-training is when you and your Pokemon do certain activities to gain levels, like beating up innocent trees and such. If you want to do Solo-training, you need to write a descriptive paragraph of you and your Pokemon training. You can gain a level after a mod or admin approves of your post. Training can include, not limited to: exercising or improving moves or skills.
Pokemon between the levels of 1 and 10 need three sentences to level up.
Pokemon between the levels of 11 and 20 need four sentences to level up.
Pokemon between the levels of 21 and 30 need five sentences to level up.
Etc.
Stick to this, and your Pokemon will level up in no time! Remember, we try to follow the games in this forum. As your Pokemon level up, they will learn new attacks which they will use in battle. Now, if it were a perfect world your Pokemon would remember everything they've learned, but sadly, this isn't a perfect world and Pokemon can only have Four attacks to use in battle. If your Pokemon learns a new attack and you would like to use that attack, you will have to have it forget another move if it already has four attacks.
Pokemon all have their own abilities that are used when specified. If you want to learn more about your Pokemon's specific ability, you can search it on bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Ability
But the ability Pick Up needs to be specified for RP.
Pick Up
A Pokemon will only pick up an item if it has been outside of it's pokeball for at least 3 or more posts. Here's the item list and codes:
If the Pokemon is out for 3 posts: Any type of Pokeball, a Potion, or any sort of single status healer (ex. Antidote, Paralyze Heal, Ice Heal, et.c)
If the Pokemon is out for 5 posts: Super Potion, Hyper Potion, or a Revive.
-TM List: 1,4,5,6,7,8,10,11,12,16,18,19,20,21,23,27,28,32,33,37,39,40,41,42,44,45, 46, 47, 4875, 76, 7,,49, 51, 53, 54, 56, 59, 61, 62, 63, 65, 66, 67, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74, 77, 83, 85, 86, 87, 88, 90, 92, 93, 94.
If the Pokemon is out for 7 posts: Any random Plate (Ex. Dread Plate, Ice Plate, Draco Plate, etc.), any other random held item (ex. Leftovers, Rocky Helmet, Nevermeltice, etc.)
-TM List: 2, 3, 9, 13, 14, 15, 17, 22, 24, 35, 26, 29, 30, 31, 34, 35, 46, 48, 43, 50, 52, 55, 57, 58, 60, 64, 68, 78, 79, 80 , 81, 82, 84, 91, 95
If the Pokemon is out for 10 or more posts: Any random evolution stone (Ex. Fire Stone, Water Stone, Dusk Stone, etc.)
A mod or admin will choose the item you receive randomly. If you feel that a mod or admin is being unfair with your Pick Up ability, let me know and I'll look into it.
Note: When Pokemon evolve and their evolution knows a basic move that is normally unobtainable unless by remembering it, they are automatically given the option of learning the move upon evolving.
Happiness:
For a Pokemon to evolve with happiness (Budew, Munchlax, Riolu, Pichu, etc.) they must be in a post with five or more sentences. You will then get a happiness Point. Once you have 10 happiness points then it will evolve after it wins one more battle.
Time of Day:
This is pretty self-explanitory, but all Pokemon following under this category need to win a battle before evolving.
1. You aren't allowed to catch legendaries, it's not fair for the other users.
2. Don't try to battle a legendary, it'll probably kick your butt or run away so you'll be wasting your time.
3. Don't ask to meet a legendary, it'll just lower your chances of meeting one, and that is already low.
4. Some legendaries can be seen during events. During events, the chance of meeting a legendary is high.
5. No, most of the event dates are not set, so don't ask.
